A very poorly maintained hotel. The bed linen was dirty. The room was very stuffy. The bathroom fittings were rusted. The Electric Kettle provided in the room was broken. A highly overpriced property. The level of heneral cleanliness jn the room and lobby was also poor. Plz do not get carried-away by its Grand/ Royal Sounding name. Not recommended.

This resort is situated along the Chandigarh-Delhi highway, and unlike most of the other big tourist resorts on this stretch, this one only has two major chain restaurants, both of them situated right at the front. One is Subway, the other is Barista. Both are small outlets, but adequate enough. Further back from the road is a paan shop and what looked like an outdoor kitchen but was non-functional when we visited. We only wanted coffee and cake, so we went straight to Barista, had our break, and did not bother to really check out the rest of the resort. It seemed to be deserted, because we did not see a single other visitor in the half hour or so we were here. One major reason for choosing this place for a stop: it has easily the cleanest washrooms I’ve seen in any highway-side resort or tourist complex in India. My daughter and I visited the ladies’, and we agreed that we’d never seen cleaner public washrooms outside of big hotels.

We stayed at Riyasat for my cousin’s wedding and now I’ve decided to plan my marriage here as well. I am so excited! Their wedding decor is just mind-blowing. You’d fall in love with the way they set up the stage and the mandap area...it’s simply a heavenly paradise. Waiting to come back.. Riyasat is a must visit.

I got the chance to book my stay at Riyasat to attend a college friend’s wedding in Kuruksehtra. Spending time in immense silence amid the city hullabaloo was an entirely different experience for me. Since it was summers, I stayed in the resort room during the daylight. It was very pleasant. The best part: it’s food. I am like totally madly in love with the keema kulcha served here. Such an ordinary dish you can get anywhere but the taste you’d just find at Riyasat. The wedding was fun but the stay at RIyasat made it even more memorable.
